Dates & Figs Balls are sugarless and healthy, easy to make at home with all the health benefits of dates and figs. Enjoy as much as you want as these are great source of magnesium, calcium, iron, amino acids, dietary fibre and are very good for hair.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 250 gm Dates (deseed & chop)
  • 250 gm Dried Figs (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup cashews, pistachio and almonds (chopped)
  • 2 cups of full fat milk

Instructions

  • Wash and Soak dates and figs together in water for 2 hours
  • Heat ghee in a large pan, shallow fry dry fruits in it and keep aside.
  • Add dates and figs into pan with remaining ghee and stir well for about 5-10 mins.
  • Add milk and stir well.
  • Ensure that milk is sufficient in quantity and covers the dates and figs properly, add more if 2 cups seem less.
  • Keep stirring the mixture, it will be softer and milk turns thicker.
  • Soon you will see a thick paste formed in the pan dissolving all the dates and figs.
  • Now close the heat, let it cool down.
  • Add minced dry fruits and let it cool.
  • Make smalls balls once it is cool enough.

Notes

You may either refrigerate or have it warm, it tastes good both ways.
Additionally you can use blender/processor to make it into a coarse mixture before forming balls.
