Overnight Oats

2.7K
Overnight Oats are a breakfast that you will need to prepare a night before to consume next morning. You can have it daily, saves a lot of time. All you need is a medium sized wide mouth glass jar that can be closed airtight. There are few basic ingredients to start with, however I have tried many other combinations, shared below.

Other topping ideas:

  • Cream cheese
  • Dark chocolate shaved
  • Carrot shredded
  • Cornflakes
  • Shredded coconut
  • Peanut butter
  • maple/chocolate syrup

Instructions

The first layer:

  • Take a mixing bowl and mix oats, yogurt, honey, cinnamon and vanilla essence in it.
  • The mixture shall be of creamy in consistency, add more yogurt if required.
  • Divide the mixture into 2 portions and put one by one in each jar, this will be your first layer at the bottom of jar.

The second layer (fruit combinations):

  • I combine 2-3 fruits at the same time:
  • Banana, apple and grapes
  • Strawberry, banana, blueberry
  • Mango & banana
  • Mango, strawberry and apple etc.
  • Apple and orange
  • Kiwi, blueberry and banana
  • You can make numerous combinations as you like. Cut these fruits one by one and add half-half in each jar.

The third layer:

  • Pour some honey over the fruits in each jar and sprinkle some cinnamon powder over it.
  • Honey is a great alternative to avoid sugary syrups as a third layer.

Toppings:

  • Chop some dry fruits, mixed dry fruits are convenient to keep at home, just take a handful and add half in each jar.
  • That’s it. Just close the jar airtight and keep it in the fridge to consume it the next morning.
