Pan Fried Spicy Fish is first marinated in aromatic ground spices for a superb tangy & spicy flavour. The recipe is versatile as you can use any fish. It goes well with roasted potatoes, veggies, rice, soups or just have it like a snack.
Equipment
- mixing bowl
- flat non stick pan
Ingredients
- 1 large dory fillet
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp dried mango powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 tsp dried parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the dory fillet under running water and cut into equal pieces on a chopping board.
- In a small bowl, mix all above spices along with salt, lemon juice and mustard oil to make a paste.
- Rub this paste on all sides of fish pieces to marinade well, cover and refrigerate for 30 mins.
- Heat a non stick pan on medium flame then pan fry each side for 4-5 mins until brown. You don’t need to cover it or add any extra oil in the pan as the marination paste already has oil.
- Since dory fish is very soft and cooks quickly, avoid flipping it again and again, it might break the pieces.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot with mayo/chutney or roasted potatoes, veggies, soup or rice etc.
