Spicy Tuna Patties is a refreshing tuna recipe you can make in easy steps. Mashed along with fresh ingredients strong spices, these tuna patties can be combined with anything you want.
You can put these into burgers, or have it with tangy sauces into wraps or just top them over salads. Today I am going to combine these with cheesy herbed rice cakes along with a green chutney and spiced raw onions to make a meal.
Equipment
- mixing bowl
- non stick pan
Ingredients
For Tuna Patties:
- 2 cups canned tuna flakes in water
- 1 medium boiled potato
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp extra olive oil to pan fry
Finely chopped:
- 1/2 cup fresh basil
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 cup bell peppers red, green & yellow
- 2 green chillies
For Green Chutney:
- 2 cups fresh coriander leaves
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 clove garlic
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1 inch ginger cube
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 tsp salt
Instructions
For Tuna Patties:
- Squeeze the canned tuna flakes to drain water then put it in a mixing bowl.
- Combine all finely chopped ingredients in the bowl along with apies and tuna flakes then mix well to form patties.
- Heat olive oil in a non stick pan and place patties one by one.
- Cook without cover each side, for about 4-5 mins on medium heat .
- Serve hot with Cheesy Herbed Rice Cakes and green chutney.
For Green Chutney:
- Roughly chop and grind all ingredients (except lemon juice) together in a blended to make coarse paste.
- Add some water, if required for blending.
- Add lemon juice and mix well.
Notes
- If you wish you can add 1 egg in the mixture to help bind the patties.
- You can also add 1/4 of tomato instead of water while grinding. It will add extra flavour in the chutney.
